«Happy Birthday, Claudio Monteverdi!». Today is the 450th birth anniversary of the composer of L’Orfeo

Today is a great day! 450 years ago, on May 9th, Claudio Monteverdi was born. Worldwide known as transitional musician between the Renaissance and the Baroque, he has been one of the greatest musical geniuses of all the times. From September 29th to October 1st, Cremona, his hometown, will be the theater of Cremona Musica International Exhibitions, the major European Exhibition for High Quality Musical Instruments.
Cremona, European capital city of music, has just started to celebrate the great Monteverdi with dedicated exhibitions, conferences and musical cruises. A special edition of the Festival Monteverdi will take place in the whole city over the next months. Every corner of the town, its historical buildings, its baroque churches and the most beautiful hidden gardens will tell something about the great composer and will recreate the magic atmosphere of his times.
And today we celebrate him with some spectacular pictures of the video mapping projected in Cremona on the opening night of the 450th year after his birth.
