One of the novelties of Cremona Musica 2018 in the Accordion Show, a new hall dedicated to accordions, in addition to the traditional halls dedicated to luthiers (Mondomusica), pianos (Piano Experience), wind instruments (Cremona Winds) and guitars (Acoustic Guitar Village).
The Accordion Show’s program includes non-stop concerts and demo-exhibitions and a space for conferences and masterclasses. It will also host a historical instruments exhibition, in collaboration with the Castelfidardo International Museum of Accordion and the Stradella Museum of Accordion, two of the best production hubs of these instruments in the world.
The artistic coordinator of the Accordion Show, Alessio Ambrosi (who is the coordinator of the Acoustic Guitar Village too) explains how this idea was born:
“With the management of CremonaFiere, it was decided to give wide visibility and ample space to an instrument whose distribution is growing rapidly in the world. Cremona Musica, with its vocation and unanimous recognition as an increasingly international appointment, is the ideal showcase for the manufacturers and distributors of the various brands.
The accordion is an instrument of high artistic craftsmanship and Italy is one of the greatest producers in the world. Placing an accordion exhibition within Cremona Musica, alongside other excellences, represents a great promotion opportunity for the world of accordion on an international scale.
The Accordion Show format will follow the example of the other shows and will include an exhibition area, masterclasses on the instrument, historical exhibitions, concerts, seminars, conferences and theme meetings“.
