Tomorrow’s musicians perform in a contest by Gewa and Cremona Musica

Gewa Young Contest” is the new contest for talented string instruments players organized by Gewa Music in cooperation with Cremona Musica and ArchiMagazine. The competition including five regional selections and the national finale addresses violin, viola and cello players aged between 6 and 14 years. The winners will be awarded with a prize of 1,000 euros and with the opportunity to perform with the Strings Orchestra Arrigoni.

SELECTIONS ALL ALONG THE ITALIAN BOOT. The special tour organized by Gewa Music – leading German company in the field of acoustic mechanical instruments – will start in Reggio Calabria on May 13th and 14th (info on www.bomu.it). Crossing the Straits of Messina, it will land in Rocca di Capri Leone on May 20th and 21st (www.pentamusa.com) and will move to Sardinia, to the Verdi Theatre in Sassari, on Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th May (www.3mmusica.it). Then, off to Castrezzato, in the province of Brescia, on June 9th and 10th (www.cavallimusica.com) and to Rome for the last step of regional selections scheduled for June 24th and 25th (www.chromaviolini.it).

NATIONAL FINALE IN THE CAPITAL CITY OF MUSIC. The winners of each category will qualify for the grand finale taking place in Cremona, hometown of Stradivari, Amati, Monteverdi and Ponchielli, on September 30th and October 1st within the 30th edition of Cremona Musica, the international Exhibition especially dedicated to high quality musical instruments and enriched by a prestigious events programme including concerts with prestigious musicians, workshops and masterclasses with international experts. And right in the capital city of violin-making, the winner of the grand finale will perform with the Strings Orchestra Arrigoni.

VISIBILITY AND EDUCATION. Gewa Music and Cremona Musica joined forces to promote and motivate the new generations of string instrument players with a highly qualifying educational chance. The competition, in fact, will take place in highly professional contexts, resulting both from the international prestige and sound expertise of jury members and from the value of the stages especially selected for the occasion. The “Gewa Young Contest” is therefore an opportunity of professional growth and an unforgettable experience.
