2015/16 musical season in Germany attracted an audience of 18 millions 200 thousand people, that is to say 40% more spectators than those registered in football stadiums. So to speak: brilliant performers are more popular than football stars, at least in Germany, as shown by the figures recently released by DOV – Deutsche Orchester-Vereinigung, the Association of German orchestras.
THE INCREASE IN THE NUMBER OF CONCERTS AND THE PASSIONATE UNDER 30
According to DOV figures, the number of concerts taking place last year increased by 10%, with 38.000 classical music performances, among which 5,800 choral and symphonic. What’s even more surprising is the fact that the audience aged between 20 and 30 has numerically overcome the audience aged between 50 and 60. So it is basically thanks to young people if big music is having a great success in Germany.
GERMANY – CREMONA: WHEN MUSIC BUILD BRIDGES. The figures published on the website Statista.com show that over 8 million Germans are highly interested in classical music as well as piano and symphonic concerts. This is a relevant figure that well explains the strong feeling existing between the German musical universe and Cremona Musica . As a matter of fact, the Exhibition taking place every year in the city of Stradivari, Amati, Monteverdi and Ponchielli welcomes every year many exhibitors from Germany (20% of the total number), with a large delegation from Bavaria, as well as thousands music lovers coming to Cremona to admire the prestigious instruments on display and to attend several cultural events (such as concerts, masterclasses and seminars) organized within the Music Show. 2017 edition is scheduled for September 29th to October 1st, save the date.
